Like most text adventure games of the 1980s, the original O'Hare's Adventure games were entirely keyboard-driven: the user would type in short (one- or two-word) commands to navigate the in-game environment. The new O'Hare's Adventure games are also text-based, however, I replaced the text parser with easy-to-use buttons. This makes the stories more accessible to modern gamers, and also removes the awkwardness of typing on a tiny touchscreen keyboard.

In addition to modernizing the user interface, I've also added a simple frame story for each game. Each story begins with a fictionalized version of John O'Hare telling his family about his quests of yesteryear.

1. O'Hare's Adventure I: The Cavern of Riches - At a family Christmas party, John O'Hare tells his granddaughter Jane about the time he explored an underground cavern in search of 12 valuable treasures. (Note: The original Cavern of Riches game for Commodore computers was itself a simplified retelling of the 1976 game Colossal Cave by Crowther and Woods.)
2. O'Hare's Adventure II: The Great Pyramid - John O'Hare pays a visit to granddaughter Jane when she is sick with COVID-19. He tells her about the time he ventured into an Egyptian pyramid and found 12 more treasures.
3. O'Hare's Adventure III: The Haunted Mansion - The O'Hare family shares ghost stories around a campfire. John O'Hare recounts the time he visited a haunted house and battled the undead to claim 20 treasures. (Note: The original Haunted Mansion game for Commodore computers made occasional reference to characters from the Stephen King novel Salem's Lot; these have been expunged in my remake to avoid any appearance of plagiarism.)
