O'Hare's Adventure is a series of interactive fiction stories for Android phones and tablets, developed by Geoff Draper. They are based on a trilogy of text adventure games created by John O'Hare for Commodore computers in the early 1980s. Experience these classic adventures once again, on today's mobile devices! Like most text adventure games of the 1980s, the original O'Hare's Adventure games were entirely keyboard-driven: the user would type in short (one- or two-word) commands to navigate the in-game environment. The new O'Hare's Adventure games are also text-based, however, I replaced the text parser with easy-to-use buttons. This makes the stories more accessible to modern gamers, and also removes the awkwardness of typing on a tiny touchscreen keyboard.
In addition to modernizing the user interface, I've also added a simple frame story for each game. Each story begins with a fictionalized version of John O'Hare telling his family about his quests of yesteryear.
