This is a shameless knock-off from a much funnier comic done by John Caldwell (of MAD magazine fame) entitled Frontier Mathematician.

But like most really clever gags, this one seemed flexible enough to adapt to other contexts. So I re-drew it with a computer twist and presented it as an attention-getter one week for the students in my CS 2020 lab session. The response was a bit disappointing, since I genuinely thought this was funnier than my Virtual Machine comic I'd forced on them a few weeks earlier.
