If I recall correctly, this cartoon was inspired by the expression: That makes about as much sense as selling life insurance at a funeral home. Similar phrases include:
- That makes about as much sense as an ejector seat in a helicoptor!
- That makes about as much sense as premoistened diapers!
- That makes about as much sense as a parachute with holes in it!
Although these sayings were popular when I was in high school, I haven't heard them in common use much lately. Maybe I just don't hang out with the right crowd anymore.
